I have already told you something about this latest Android version in the post where I outlined the 5 best features of Android Q. The beta testers tested these features to make sure that the latest version of Android is also the greatest. At the time when I last told you about Android 10, it was still in beta phases. So as the Android was released it is a good time to discuss further

The latest android version has no name it has only a number

Google used the names of desserts for all the versions of Android since its inception in 2014. They used this so-called code name alongside “standard” numbers.

I am not so sure if Google wanted us consumers to know the codenames Even if not when it spread around it was kind of a neat thing that made Android stand out as different.

Since the tradition has been perpetuated from the very first version of Android available in 2014 it surprises me that Google did not think of the change earlier.

Quite honestly I believe that the glimpse of the novelty of a different name and approach to development has faded away a long time ago.

As Google themselves reports the naming of versions of Android caused confusion among its users. To mitigate all the issues and confusion reported by Android users, Google decided to go with more standard approach.

So Even as the 10th version of Android has still been using a letter Q there came out no candy at the end. Quite honestly I feel like it would be hard to come up with the name of a candy starting with Q.

New branding and logo incoming

As a kind of a sidenote Android blog also states that there will be a change to the logos and arts associated with the Android brand.

The latest Android version 10 is the first one which uses the new logo design and overall branding
