Hi Everyone,

as I am running this blog I keep on seeing quite a few people who need help with getting their blogging idea off the ground. So here are simple steps that everyone needs to follow to build a blog and have it visible in Google search.

Step 1: Have an idea of a topic you want to blog about

Before you create any posts you need to figure out what you want to write about. You need to think of a topic that you are passionate about. The main reason is that the blog will take  time to develop. If you are not passionate about what you are writing you would get discouraged and stop working on it even before you see results.

Blogging is not going to make you money right away but if you do it right you can earn money by blogging.

Step 2 – Find a good title for your blog

The title is important because it is the first thing that people see in google search results. Make sure to pick one that fitts you  and the main topic of your blog

Step 3 – Get a domain and hosting

A domain is a website that you type into your browser. In my case it is https://pavelzah.com/

if somebody already uses a certain website name there cannot be two of the same pages. When you go to get your domain, the provider will have a way of showing you if a certain website is available to take

Hosting is a place where your web page is stored. The hosting offers often include email addresses and security protection for your site.

The domain and hosting can be sorted out in one place. there are free and paid options.

For the free options, I recommend WordPress because they have great tools that make it easy for you to get started.

Some of you also might want to use Blogger. Blogger is created by Google so they will give you instructions on how to make use of the blog.

One big disadvantage of the free blog is the fact that in the website name you will have something like (yourname).blogspot.com

As for the paid domain and hosting, I would recommend using GoDaddy or Bluehost because they both come with C panel that lets you have control over all that is installed on your webserver

I have recently written a post about how to pick a good domain for your blog. Feel free to check it out

Step 4 – Create a blog site

There is a couple of ways to create a website.

If you know how to code, you can create a page from scratch

If you do not know how to code but know how you want your page to look, you can use things like Squarespace or Wix.com to create the website by placing website elements to the place where you want them to be.

The hosting I recommended lets you use WordPress plugins on your blog so you can use things like Elementor page builder.

Step 5 – publish blog posts on your blog

Once you have set up the webpage to look as you like it is a great time to post stuff on it. It would also be great to have those posts prepared in advance so that you can post multiple things in a short amount of time. Being active in creating more and more content is important. The more content you have the better chance there is that people see it.

More is not always better. It is great to have a smaller amount of high-quality content that invites people to come to the site. So make sure to create new posts regularly but also make sure that they have some good value to them and they are not copying someone else’s work.

Step 6 – use the tools to see the statistics of your blog

There are two tools you need to see the effect your blog has on people.

Google analytics

this tool shows you the data about the people who come to your site. I will dedicate a separate blog post to explaining each of the metrics that you can see on there.

Google search console

This shows you if you are getting page views from the Google search. once you get some data there you are able to see what these people were searching for when they found you so it helps see what your audience is interested in.

Step 7 – monetize your website

There are multiple ways to make money on your website. To start with you probably would like to have some advertisements on the website.

Each of the so-called ad networks is somewhat different in the way they serve ads. Here are three networks that I would recommend you use.

Media.net

Every single ad network is going to look at your site and see if they like the content you post there and if their customers might like to display ads on your site. With media. net the process of approval takes like three days. The ads are displayed similarly to well known Google AdSense

Viglink

Viglink is different in the sense that it is in a text ad. You get paid for people clicking on links found inside of the text of your blog. This is best when you review products. Viglink pays you for the items sold as a result of someone clicking on the link.

Google AdSense

Adsense is the best in multiple ways. It takes some time to get approved to have AdSense on your site but once it is done. You can put it on automatic and sit back and look at the money coming in.

I will take the time to look through all the requirements you need to meet to have your blog approved. For now, it is enough to know that Google pays any time your visitor clicks one of the ad banners. Furthermore, you get a small commission even when your visitors just see the ad. You decide which ads are on your website (by topic) and if you want to you can even decide where exactly you want to put your ads
